Some its advantages are: it is cost efficient, not hazardous to human health, and promote power saving. The main reason why people are switching to fitting secondary glazing to existing windows because double glazing specifically of windows prevent harmful factors such as too much sun and heat entering the room. Paintings should be taken care of properly. Advantages: health safety, sound insulation and sound proofing, limited condensation, and reduce damage to furniture.
Disadvantages: double glazed windows cannot be repaired since the space between the two glass traps the air. If the seal is not too tight condensation will occur. Another disadvantage is that it traps heat even during the summer time. Trapping heat will result to uncomfortable and stuffy room.
